The US Department of Defense (DoD) has awarded Jadoo Power a contract to produce an aeromedical rescue and transport power system. The Jadoo system uses fuel cell technology to drive the emergency medical equipment onboard a military evacuation and transport aircraft to ‘maximise rescue efficiency and minimise risk to soldiers’.

Jadoo is working on the Delta II, a military field radio which weighs in at 18 pounds. For a mission lasting 11 days, the previous generation radio relied on batteries that weighed 79 pounds. The lighter, more compact Jadoo fuel cells would eliminate 61 pounds from the weight of the radio carried by a soldier.

Jadoo Power announced today a patent award for a Forced Air Fuel Cell Power System.  This patent addresses many configurations of Jadoo Power's open cathode forced airflow design, which provides an air-cooled power system that is compatible with a wide rage of fuels due to its built-in pressure regulation. The internal hydrogen reservoir allows for hot-swappability without interruption in operation.

4/20/2009 - Jadoo Power and Partners to Receive $1.8 million under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act for Fuel Cell Technology Development

Jadoo Power is one of two companies in California to receive funding as part of the $41.9 million American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) through the Department of Energy to further advance fuel cell technologies and markets. Jadoo Power will work with NASCAR Media Group and City of Folsom to deploy five solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) power systems to replace gas and diesel generators currently in use.
