The Jadoo Power / Acumentrics Advantage

Jadoo Power is combining strengths with partner Acumentrics bringing our PEM fuel cell architecture, balance of plant technologies and fuel advancements together with their SOFC expertise to create a new generation of commercialized capabilities delivering more power and more possibilities to new markets.

Jadoo Power has its roots in PEM fuel cell architecture typically delivering to portable and mobile applications.

The PEM or polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (see right diagram) is one in a family of five types of fuel cells (three of which are mostly suited to large applications such as an electric utility plant). PEM fuel cells have several advantages. They operate at near ambient temperatures and have very high power densities, which makes them relatively compact, and they work at high efficiencies producing 40-50% of the maximum voltage and can vary their output quickly to meet demand shifts.

Acumentrics delivers Solid Oxide Fuel Cell architecture in stand-alone and backup power applications.

The SOFC or Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (see right diagram) operates at 800°C. SOFCs offer their own advantages. They can operate on a wide variety of fuels with minimum processing, have greater electrical efficiencies, and have a longer life than PEM cells—16,000 hours without power output degradation.

Each type is more suitable for certain applications (although many applications overlap) but a big advantage of SOFC is its ability to operate on many types of fuels. Fuels are the key.      READ MORE
